The W B U is pleased to announce that Mr. Daniel McGarvie has been appointed as Chairman of the Championship-Rankings Committee and assumes all duties immediately. Appointed as well to the Committee is Mr. Don Collette- W B U and I B U Director for Canada and Executive Committee member. The third person appointed is Miss Gail LeBlanc who will oversee the research for the Rankings Committee. W B U President Don "Moose" Lewis welcomes everyone appointed and looks forward to the rankings every month. All requests for rankings should be addressed to rankings@WBUboxing.org for consideration. On Saturday, 24 September 2016 in Mexico, WBU Heavyweight Interim World Champion Marselles Brown wins by TKO5 against challenger Saul Montana to capture the full WBU Heavyweight World Championship. As soon as we arrived in Roasrito, Mexico, we were taken directly to the weigh-ins at a small beach front restaurant that hosted the press conference for the WBU Heavyweight Title fight.

Rising Baltimore-bred boxer Yahu "Rock" Blackwell is slated to make his TV debut this summer in a fight for the WBU cruiser weight title.

Yahu "Rock" Blackwell is undertaking the biggest test of his young career, when he make's his television debut on June 18th, 2016 fighting for the WBU America's Cruiser weight championship. The 29-year-old from Baltimore has returned to the ABC and is now on the journey to becoming the WBU and IBU undisputed cruiser weight world champion.

Blackwell is currently training for his next fight on June 18th, 2016 where he will be on the world stage competing for a WBU America's Cruiser weight title. His latest training is meant to push him past his current limitations and take him to a whole new level. These are extensive sparring sessions where Blackwell is taking on 4-5 different sparring partners insuring that each one coming in is fresh and ready to take him on. These bouts are lasting 8-10 rounds where he is consistently pushing his limits and insuring that each fighter is at their best before taking him on.

Baltimore, Maryland - Hometown of WBU and IBU ranked boxer Yahu Blackwell, has seen an increase in crime and homeless in the last decade. Although Blackwell continues to focus his energy on perfecting his craft, he refused to turn his back on the City that he proudly calls "home".
